Another comet has come and gone. Mattie Stepanek lived, shared his light with us and inspired our spirits. It's a brilliance not easily forgotten.

He was extraordinary. I was touched by the strength of his poems and the hope it contained, despite the fact that he was suffering physically even just to write them. The pureness of his love for life was envious and it's an attitude I hope to imbibe.

Mattie Stepenek is my hero. His Heartsongs will live on.
