1.24 am

I'm so groggy. I need to sleep badly. My knees are shaking from exhaustion. But I'm still up waiting for my mom and sister to get home. All because sis had a meeting--A MEETING!--at 11.30 in the evening after having to spen a whole day at the office. She didn't have a ride home! So my poor mother had to hail a cab at one in the morning just to pick up her third offspring from the office.

There were so many other ways to do this. All that was needed was a little foresight, a little planning, a little conscientiousness and some concern. There's really not much effort in that, especially if you're blessed with common sense. Certainly it doesn't require of anyone the same kind of effort that my sister's work seems to demand.

Creative solutions do not need to strain the spirit. There is no point in slave driving an idea to fruition when the minds working at it are spent. What kind of output would one come up with? The best solutions, the best practices are the simplest ones. And when you have a clear and simple goal you will find a million ways to get to it.

The solution to tonight's issues here at home and in my sister's office were simple. I could see so many ways to arrive at it. But what does it matter? They should be the ones who see it, not me. They're the ones for whom it will work best. If only they would take a step back and look at it another way. I'm sure things would have sorted themselves out in no time and with the least effort to their exhausted minds and spirits.
